I've just looked at sidwils price for an IBC of Meth on Fleabay and it gone up significantly!!
Last time I purchased one it was £435 + courier
Today its £580 + Courier
Does anyone know where I could get some cheaper?
Plus why is it so expensive now?
I may have to make a still and start making my own (only a joke)

Quarterly increases and short supply. It happens all the time.

Why is the supply short?

Its the way manufacturers artificially hike up the price of stuff by producing less of it.
As a business we are finding paper bags are in short supply. Prices are getting ridiculous. We saw IPA costs tripple overnight last year when more of it was snapped up by hand sanitizer makers. Its now close to being back where it was.
Lots of things influence costs. Container ships stacked up in the channel not being able to dock at ports like Felixstowe...no room to off load them puts stuff in short supply. As an aside costs increase to cover the lost revenue while being stacked.

Ex VAT I'm pretty sure the bulk price to suppliers like Sidwil etc is about 30ppl so from their retail prices you can draw your own conclusions.

Any takers for Question 1?
How much could I get 20,000 litres for? would only need 19 others to split it with - just bring yet own IBC ;D

Industrially methanol can be made by heating methane with water in the presence of sulfuric acid . The UK has some natural gas wells , so there might be someone making it there . Buying from the manufacturer might cost less .
