Title: 2-EHN. What's the difference?
Post by: neisel on March 01, 2016, 11:55:28 AM
Ebay seller ajhydra (Hydra International Ltd) offers 2 different choices for 99% 2-EHN.

Does anyone who speaks Science or Chemistry know what the difference is?

ok, the one in the bottle with the propitiatory lable (their own brand) has an addative added to aid lubricity.

the one in the plain labelled bottle is pure.

although i would not recommend buying for at least an hour.

coz i just spoke to them and asked if they would like to introduce themselves and offer a forum discount  ;D

Good work Ged and Hydra team.

We don't really need the improved lubricity, so the purer 2ehn would be my choice.

For 2 quid extra you can get 5L of pure 2-EHN (w/out the lubricity additive) & 250 mls of injector cleaner - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-EHN-Pure-2-Ethylhexyl-Nitrate-Cetane-Booster-5L-Diesel-Injector-Cleaner-250ml-/272145599682?hash=item3f5d244cc2:g:dZoAAOSwFNZWzvtG

Would we benefit from that or does BD & / or WVO clean injectors on it's own?

Hi to All,

Thanks members for overwhelming response.

Thanks Jamesrl, Geds & Neisel for sharing eBay links

1. Further in regard to the web-section's with benefit to all forum members - It will be updated on Friday, 4th March, 2016
where links will be shared on this same forum.

2. In regard to the Hydra Bio Diesel Power Blast Injector Cleaner listed along with 2-EHN referred via eBay link above,

Here is a little info:

The powerful detergents in Hydra Diesel Power Blast Injector Cleaner prevents the formation of and removes existing deposits caused by fuel decomposition and unburnt fuel.
Hydra Diesel Power Blast Injector Cleaner helps to get 100% clean injectors, thus give optimal fuel spray pattern, which in turn gives you better fuel economy, reduced emissions and improved engine durability.
It also contains lubricity improvers that decrease fuel pump wear issues, they work in very cold climates.
Can be used in all grades of Diesel, VOD, SVO or WVO fuel including biodiesel fuels.

Further any questions, Please feel free to post!

Thanks,
Regards,

I didn't know there was a 20% discount on http://www.powerenhancer.co.uk/

That makes 5L of 99% 2-EHN £29.56!

Lucy / John, welcome to biopowered wiki and forum.

Thank you both for the offer and well done Ged for bullying them negotiating the deal!

As your offer was to members and your new web page will be private, we've set up a new board accessible only to biopowered members who are signed in.

When you post details of your new web page, if you do so on this board ... http://www.biopowered.co.uk/forum/index.php/board,23.0.html (http://www.biopowered.co.uk/forum/index.php/board,23.0.html) it will prevent all and sundry from accessing it.

Once posted we'll make it a "sticky" so it remains at the top of the board and isn't lost in all the drivel the rest of us post.

Oi, you talk utter drivel most of the time but "I" only ever offer up informative and constructive comments.

Yet to be advised, Nige.

Did you ever find out what pump you have and sort the photos?  I did send an email some time ago.

Must be an out of date black list.

My site was hacked some years back but it was all sorted long ago.

Exactly what messages are you getting?

That's great Lucy, TVM!

Now the only question for the panel is, for BD with or without lubricity additive?

I should know this but, is BD already more slippery than dino?

Bd is said to be 6 x slippier than Dino but I've never seen definitive proof of that.

Having said that additional lubricity can't  be a bad thing, you paz y'muny y'takes y'choice.
