Title: 3/27 clear pass at -10C
Post by: Tony on November 07, 2014, 01:14:41 AM
Just for interest, this was a sparkling clear pass at 10C, taken down to -10C

As you can see there are floating flakes which settle to the bottom.  Easily distinguished from oil fallout because they float up and move easily with the liquid.

So this whole 3/27 pass at 20C thing that people go on about I'm not convinced by.  Even with palm oil it should be easy to see the difference between oil and waxing.

I don't bother too much about temperature and often get passes at below 20°C.

I had similar flakes a couple of batches ago, just a tiny amount, but noticeable, and as you say defiantly not oil.  I've no idea what they were but I don't think it was wax given the ambient at the time.

Nice one Tony, good experiment, I've never tested below fridge temps but in tests I did good bio will pass clear n bright at pretty much any test temp and any temp difference between meth n bio.

Reminds me I must get another driveway sample bottle now its starting to get a little colder, I caught the last one with the lawnmower as it had got lost in the grass.
