Draws about the same current as 4-5 glow plugs but at many times the price!

I haven't fitted it yet it was to be a heat sink for a small wind turbine i made, what have you got in mind?
I think i gave it to RM a few months back, he was thinking of heating water in his camper van

was goint to get one for my generator (air cooled)to keep the soilds melted so would not have to draw a lot of power.

yes i be looking after it at the moment, i think its either something like 400 or 600 watts but thats a guess as im not near it to check, also this one of K's has 2 electrodes if i remeber rightly?

just checked K's link and says 200 watt so not to much draw...

on a side note from K's link post, i clicked through a few links and come across something id been looking for a whikle ago and will help twin tanking people. i did find a few but always to low a cut in temp. this temp is a nice high one for those more delicate engines / IP pumps (lucas) used to switch the 2x 3 way valves on fuel in and return pipes...

something just crossed my mind here and perhaps K.H may know this one re: used as a supplementary heater for a cylinder hot water tank, these 12 volt heaters do they have stats built in? if no, then what sort of temp can be acheived with one of these? i guess all this is dependant on volume of tank its fitted to? and we for all intenxe and purposes say it has a solid supply of 12 volt constant for the sake of arguments here...

i guess a tank of say carbouy size mayget quite hot, and a tank of say household size would only get warm due to volume of water. so in a house could be left on permenatly, but in a carbouy sized tank it would have to be stated for safety, as HDPE melting or warping temp comes into play, which for HDPE is 60c? before plastic starts to change state.

will have a looksy if i pop over mine today, look for dvd player for boob feeder too.

side note kieth, i may not be in work this week wednesday is physio therapy on me knee and checj out what the problem is, and thursday im having my water meter fitted.... hopeing for cheaper bills instaed of something like £65 a month.... ?

The thermal switches are very handy - I have one fitted to the cylinder head and connected to an led on dash, when up to temperature the led goes out and I switch tanks. More accurate than temperature guage, guage shows up to temperature a long time before liight goes out

i would usually jump at that, but i been very ill with a cold or flu no idea, just its knocked me about since it came on at work thursday. so been trying to stay in the warm and get shot of it...

side note that 12v heater is 500 watts...

also found a dvd player of the phillips model and remote for boob feeder...
