I'm considering getting fibre put in, as it's available in our area. 60mbps down, 20mpbs up. That'd be a touch faster than the current 8mbps down, 1.3mbps up
I have that service, the download is always good but upload never reaches 3mpbs,

Unfortunately the caveat with most fibre providers is that to run a server we'd need:
- static IP address
- open e-mail ports (most ISPs block to prevent infected users sending spam)
- reverse DNS entry (more a vanity thing, can live without it but it's nice to have)
Of course this is always hard information to extract from the majority of broadband providers websites. Virgin, for example, only offer static IPs with business packages, so no good for me.
Plusnet at least make a point of supporting static IPs for home users. The other's I've not investigated - yet
