Morning,

I need to start doing this before my engine gets worse, hopefully the smoking and oil usage is down to gumming and I can save it. I'm hoping to install my system properly when I get more time

Just wondered what the right procedure is for misting water into the inlet pipe when the car is stationary? Engine warmed up, revs raised (to??) and then short bursts of spray? How much water over what period?

Any idea if it is ring gumming how long it would take to notice any reversal?

Hello Vijay, I hope all is good with you?
We did 1500 -2000 rpm and we used a couple of litres over about 40-45 mins from a garden pump up sprayer set on its finest mist the first time on my mates peugeot, then he did a few more between 15 -30 mins and said it was much improved and then he was gonna fit a nozzle and pump on a switch but the car was back ended and written off.

Yeah all good apart from crazily busy these days. How you been?

Appreciate the info, deffo got to try it this weekend. Sorry to hear about his car though, not the end I hoped to hear lol

put through 2.5 litres of deionized water today. Held the car at 1500 revs while I sprayed it through over 45 minutes to an hour.

I found the revs would drop once sprayed and then come back. Every now and again the revs would rise higher which I didn't quite understand.

Would also see a bit more smoke when the revs would clime back up.

What else should I expect to see in the process?

Checked the engine oil this morning and I have some emulsion. Did I spray too much water, or too quickly or is my engine just knackered?

I took the car out for a "spirited" drive yesterday and it drove really well. Apart from my car needing a jump start (new battery ordered yesterday), it started pretty well and a huge reduction in smoke, I'm talking 90% reduced at least. I know it's way too early but I'm quite shocked at how much less smoke there was.
I've topped it up with diesel and took it for a high rev drive and again it drove fantastically.

Did the Italian tune up get rid of the emulsion?

nah still some in there. I didn't think the emulsion would go until I did an oil change?

Still did well on next to no smoke this morning, I'd be very happy if this worked as it was so bad. Still have to see about oil usage though.

There was next to no emulsion in the oil today, do you think it could have steamed off?
