Bromophenol Blue
« on: September 09, 2024, 06:00:18 PM »
Hi all,

I have been using  Bromophenol Blue 0.04% ( because thats what the test called for and what was sold at biodiesel supply stores in the US).
Now, most of the bio stores are out of business.

A place i found has  Bromophenol Blue 0.1%

Does this change how much i use or any other factors when doing the soap test

Since you are only using it as an indicator the amount you use is basically only enough to follow the reaction progress it won't make any difference to the actual process. Iirc it is normally an aqueous solution therefore if you want you can dilute it down to the 0.04% and use it in the way you have done previously.
