Need a BD100 using automatic diesel car for a new driver. The budget is £1,500. It must be an automatic with a small engine which will hopefully make it cheap to insure.
Any suggestions?

Skoda Fabia 1.9sdi auto, it may not be a small engine but it is low powered.

Thanks.
Don't know anything about Skoda's but a quick search suggests this was the 1st one when VW were in charge so it's the same as a Polo underneath the skin?

There doesn't seem to be a single automatic Skoda Fabia 1.9sdi for sale anywhere in the country. I don't know if they ever even sold them.
That's the problem with these small automatic BD using cars, they're rare. I reckon only about 2 or 3 % opted for it where it was available as an option.

Well you say that, I thought the Corsa 1.5TD would be slow but it was like the proverbial off a shovel. Very light. Not sure how an auto would affect it but some of them are pretty good!

Small autos are a problem to find, and command a premium at the best of times. I know a few folk who are always on the lookout for them. Very easy to sell, not so easy to source, no matter what make or model.

Is anyone running DB in a Toyota Yaris (XP10) D-4D?
Would BD be a problem in that?
