This is my Pedrollo, stripped for some pics, its still going on my first processor that i sold to a friend

http://www.vegetableoildiesel.co.uk/forum/viewthread.php?tid=11595

I don't believe that for one minute!

Don't believe what, that it's his pump or that he has/had a friend?

The nearest he'll ever get to friend is his Teddy Bear.

That he's got a friend.

I heard his Teddy Bear checked itself into the nearest charity shop.

I think due to design, centrifugal pumps will suffer with hot meth laden bio,
they produce low pressure in the center of the impeller, this low pressure will promote cavitation and reduce flow rates.

Cavitation is when due to a combination of heat and low pressure the liquid turns to a gas.

It might come down to impeller design - the Pedrollo ones are only very basic - by comparison the Calpeda multistager has gently rounded intake shapes which sharpen towards the outside of the impeller, and didn't seem to suffer the same flow rate limitation with hot bio.  On the other hand you could argue this shears the liquid less so perhaps not as good for mixing?

Just because no one else can see my friends doesn't mean they don't exist!

Little pump down Devon way, might be good for drywash or slow circulation?

300lpm Stainless Lowara @ £50 in Kent (Single Phase)

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lowara-CEAM-210-3-V-CENTRIFUGAL-PUMP-STAINLESS-240V-/300856377473

That'd do someone nicely for a processor!

Actually the 300lpm is rated at 14.4m head so on a processor with only a couple of meters head it might well do better than that.

Think I may have a go at that one in Kent.

A pump head, as marked on the plate, is a measure of Dynamic head, you're not allowing for the static head on our plants.

The dynamic head we deal with is measured in inches, it's the height between the surface of the oil to the return pipe.

Basically we only have to worry about pipe resistance not head.

Ah yes, good point.  Even better then.

Anyone that bids needs to remember that  they will have to install suitably large pipework to get the most from the pump.

Very true, NEVER fit less than the pump size on the inlet side and NEVER drop more than one size on the outlet.

How about 1 inch Bsp inlet with 22mm pipework onto it.
