Bosch ve pump part wanted
« on: October 07, 2015, 12:22:35 PM »
I have a pump for a Landrover 300tdi and it needs a new throttle spindle with the attached yoke.
Was wondering if someone on here has a wrecked pump or parts laying around that they dont need???
Happy to pay for it.

This is the part I need.

I think Ged's a secret land rover lover. He's seen how springy the boot floors are in them with a few hundred liters of veg oil sat on them and wants some of the action!

On a down side, I don't have that part sorry :-( I must have binned it in my recent house move. I used the 11mm head off my spare 300tdi pump to build into my mrs' golf tdi. It's specced for 220/230bhp now just needs the map doing. She's probably gonna have a bit of a shock going from 90bhp to 200+ when I do get round to mapping it. Not gonna tell her  ;)

I have a dead 300tdi pump, I have no idea what's wrong with it, it just stopped working.

Ok so I was running a high percentage of missfuel and it died.

If you think the throttle spindle will still be good I can whip it out and post it off.

Thanks to those that replied but I think I have got it sorted now.
After I asked on the forums I found that there is more than one type of spindle fitted to these pumps. Any specialists I phoned wanted the pump number which is unlegible on my pump. I took the old one to a specialist yesterday and he has ordered what he thinks is the correct one.

i phoned a mate last night who`s two weeks late coming down for a tank of veg.

the conversation went like this....

"you must be running short now, unless you`ve been off work or its broke"

"                            silence                                                    "

"ok, what happened?"

"the back collapsed.............."

the prosecution rests.........

Great read
Particularly like this bit

Quote
Everything that is good about it dates from years ago.
Everything else is mend and make do, from the blanked off scuttle ventilators
that look like windows bricked up after the 17th century window tax,
to the inadequacies of the driveline and chassis.
