Don't fancy rewinding the motor?

Sounds like an adventure...

I use that type of pump for bio on my filling station.  As KH said very noisy, works great on bio, but I'm not sure how it would cope with cold veg oil.  The vanes are likely to be plastic or possibly some type of carbon and may not fair well if the liquid is too viscous.  Many have a bypass valve built in.

For the same or similar money you could pick up a second hand Mono.  That will happily pump all sorts of gloop complete with small lumps and BCBs all day long.  Only problem is the availability, they only come up on ebay once in a while.

unfortunatley i needed it now. too much oil to move around and i already had to let 300L go at cost.

findings so far...

heavy. surprisingly so.
loud. surprisingly so.

and it pumps....

had a poke around before i fitted it. seems solid enough....

impellor body is metal with carbon inserts which the vendor also sells.

and hes only a few miles away.

his methanol is £84 per 205. virgin.

I'd call that more of a strainer than a filter, but I like the design ... nice and easy to clean.

Methanol price looks good ... any idea of the shipping costs?

that vane design  is the same as those hand cranked barrel pumps. mine get clogged up with sticky veg oil  residue. easy enough to clean but may be worth while running some bio though it to clean them if you are not using it for a while.

not having much luck with this.

on off switch collapsed after a few uses and electrics box literally started cracking up as i was trying to replace it.

if i try to pump more than 60L, the motor suddenly slows down and the oil just trickles out.

will ring the vendor tomorrow and see whats going on.

Don't think the Clarke pump will be up to it either.

A Mono will really be your best bet.  By the time you've gone through several pumps at 70 -80 quid a pop you'd have covered the cost of one.

I have a search continuously running on ebay, if one comes up I'll give you a shout, but there's been nothing for months.
