Brushes are usually quite simple things.

In the past I've taken brushes from a dead motor, filed the carbon, modified the spring or used a separate spring and fitted to another motor.  I have a few oddballs kicking about somewhere ... what are they like?

Post a photo and dimensions and I'll see if I have any that might be suitable.

cheers julian.

in the spirit of that comment i had the same thought this morning. so i looked on eblag and came to the conclusion that any brush with the wire in the top centre would do as long as it is of roughly the same dimensions.

will strip it tonight and have a wee measure.

I've used the carbon out of a carpenter's pencil. Super glued them together with wire between them then filed down to size. Did it on my jigsaw 18 months again and its still going strong.

De soldering brade works well and solders easily just do not apply to much solder as it wicks down
fast.

thats what im hoping for. the pump still works fine, but you have to belt it to free whats left of the brushes.

and i still have 300L stuck in the front garden and a full shed....
