Cripes.  Did that necessitate removing the fuel tank and cleaning?  What about the storage tank - how on earth do you deal with solidifying liquid - quickly pump back out into the IBCs before it sets?

That sounds like a dilemma!

I'm guessing it was recoverable, presumably by adding feedstock ... lots of it!

As soon as I realised what had happened called in 3000L of methanol and spent all night pump mixing that with the solid gloop in the tank. Then Sat and Sun used the liquid mess through a jet nozzle to break up solids so it could all be pumped out and sent back.
What a mess but all shiny know

Latest reports regarding the Tesco fuel say that whatever it was is causing the fuel to gell in the lines and pump.  Described as a Linseed smell.

 I guess that would explain the expensive repairs (blocked high pressure pumps).  Still no news on what it actually is though!

It must be pretty odd stuff - even palm oil wont cause fuel to gell in the lines at the temperatures we are currently experiencing down here in the sunny south.
