One more thought -

The tank in the garage - the 'thermal store' -

If you get one with a 28mm coil, i think they work out at about 0.5m2 of area on the coil.

That's not enough to heat to 60c on a single pass (DHW coils in thermal stores are about 3.5m2 area) but it would be great for heating up your veg all the same.

Why im saying this is that, when youre shopping for the tank, try and get an "indirect" one, rather than a "direct" - you wont be using the coil for heating the tank, but you may well find it useful for heating other stuff 'from' the tank.

can you put solar evacuated tues  on the roof? or if not do you have a south facing garden or garage roof you could use?  you can buy just the glass tubes quite cheaply from china. then you could fit the copper tubes in them yourself and feed the output to your thermal store. almost  free heat.

It's north and north.

I have toyed with the idea but I can't see much heat being
Generated from this.
