I feel slightly dirty because I bought 5l of diesel to put in the Largo I've got for sale, because I don't want to scare off potential buyers...

Oh ... they're all coming out of the woodwork now!

It wasn't you I was referring to ... wonder how many more will own up?

Bought a van last month forgot to take some bio with me
had to put £10.00 of diesel in to get me home.

£10.00 in and the fuel gauge needle hardly moved
the low fuel light came on 20 miles from home but it was
not getting any more I still feel the pain.

There's another member of the forum who should be feeling far dirtier than me ... I was just buying fuel for someone else.

Wonder if he'll own up or should we start a wiki leaks board so we can dish the dirt?

OK, hands up, it's me.

We've been down to the west country on holiday with the caravan, was a little short on fuel before we went so didn't take any with me (left home with a full tank).
20 miles from home the light came on, not wishing to run the risk of running out on the motorway I pulled off and splashed £10 of  smelly arab piss in the tank, all would have been fine (and I would not of had to admit it) if the disco started afterwards,
however when the key was turned, nothing, nothing at all.
So I phoned the RAC to get on the waiting list, then phoned the only knowledgeable disco man (that was in the country) that I have a number for.
Shortly afterwards she started without me doing anything !!!!

But said knowledgeable disco man couldn't keep it to himself, oh no, he just had to broadcast it to anyone and everyone.

Oh yes, thanks for the advice and offer of help Julian, much appreciated mate.

This is turning into some kind of therapy session for the traumatic experiences we've been through at the tax station.

I don't know how people do it every week, it must take some kind of special mental conditioning not to see the pound signs shooting up on the pump.  *shudder*

My name is Mark and today I visited a tax station...........................................

The guy in front of me had put £100 in his X5, and it hadn't clicked off.

Then there's always the two or three who ask me every time they see me, "Is it worth it, is it worth it" like some kind of stuck record.
Obviously a diet of drinking tax in the pub and watching telly has totally diminished their capability to perform simple financial calculations, like 25p a litre is cheaper than £1.37 a litre.
Then the same pillocks ask what exactly it is that I do at night, being as I don't have a telly.........
Anyway, I think I just bought a Vitara Jeep. Needs a ticket, but I should be able to cope with that.

My people wagon runs on lpg, a concious decision so I didn't end up having more room given to bio storage than seats for the kids on family holidays as was likely since the decision to downsize from a Transit to a regular people carrier, if I had bought a diesel I just wouldn't have given up until I had a boot load and a roofbox full of the stuff ready for a long journey.

Needless to say even at those prices it doesn't do any unnecessary miles strictly for when everyone is going somewhere at the same time, if I'm not in too much of a hurry I'll even do 2 short trips in the Astra rather than take the Estima out the drive. Too frightening to pay 60-70p a litre, regularly paying those sort of prices at the pump was the last straw before I decided to see if my Serena would survive on veg.
