If I can get it arranged and the timing is right I may be able to bring 2600L of water in IBS's.
That would help fill it quicker (and cheaper).
Skoda Yeti L&K 2L TDI 150 CR DPF Adblue
VW Touran 1.6tdi DSG.
Both running pimp diesel.

Mark, nice thought matey but water is not a problem.

Alan, sounds like it might do the trick, how tall, or deep is it?

If its deep enough, I'm thinking dig hole to half bury it, use soil from hole to bank up around it.

I have not read the whole thread in one go (and i forget stuff) but if you set it into the ground, wont the wet earth just sap away the heat as quick as it goes in?

you could wrap the whole thing in astrofoil before it goes in the hole, plus i suspect you lose more heat from the surface than to the ground anyway.

as a m67 owner there are a few tips to get it working without blowing your head off. dont use petrol. my runs quite happily on heating oil of red diesel. you do have to get the flue hot first to stop it burning back. i  leave mine for longer than you think before opening the tap. i have mine well tamed and it is living in the coach as a space heater at the moment. have fun.

How about a LWB Land Rover rear body.  Line with old carpet and DPM plastic or just line with glass fibre.

Built in seats.
Space under wheel boxes for pumps etc
Won't corrode
Gets another Land Rover off the road
Could be fitted with a canvas roof or hard top if you want to be posh.
Could be insulated underneath if required
Leave on half the chassis and rear axle and it could be towed around ... wouldn't look amiss being towed behind one of the "Winnebago's" seen at the BBB.

Hope you are going to experiment with bio and veg as a fuel, it would seem wrong to be at a BBB and heat with red diesel.

i have run mine on 70% veg oil ok. bit more difficult to start but fine once it is hot. i will try it on bio when i have some, but want to keep the bio for the van. i can get red or heating oil around here easily enough and every litre of bio in the heater is a litre less on the road. i see the bio as being worth 1.38 a ltr and the red being 79p.
