I didn't go into too much detail in my first post as I wanted imput from others.

We had thought of an M67 heater dropped into a 205 drum with the water being pumped from the tub into the 205, hot water overflowing (through a pipe) back to the tub,
this would get it up to temp quite quickly, but is not a good idea for constant heat.

So it's boiled womble next year then?

All this talk of straw bale building .... if only we knew an expert in the field (pun intended along with sarcasm!)

That was the idea.

I must have missed that conversation at the BBB.

m67's on ebay ATM for £50. i already have 1 and 1/2 debating whether to get another one. i worked out they produce around 3 kw into a insulated tank so not one is not really enough into a large area of open water.

Just throw in some vegetables and turn down to simmer for a few hours.

I heat my tub with the lister. It is loaded at 2kW with the genny and has an exhaust HE. It takes about 12 hours tto get 1200L of water to 40c. Some tubs are heated with a woodburner in the tub! Always fancied one of those.
If a genny could be rigged up to the lister that could run an inline imersion heater and load it up. When hot it could run the pump.

M67 heaters for £25 + £25 p&p

He says he has 19 of them.  Don't suppose anyone is travelling Spilsby (up near Skegness) to Southampton any time?  If I got there in good time on the Friday we'd stand a reasonable chance of getting the pool built and up to temp for Saturday.  I have a suitable pump for the circulation too.
