'Tis a thing of beauty Keith.

Are you not putting the front number plate back on?

its not in very good nick

Nither is the back one!  Are they embossed aluminium or the applied plastic numerals?

Back one is embossed, i quite like the aged look of it, front one is the sticky numbers type

But not no what is, for all intents and purposes, a new machine!

No one's asked yet ... does it run? and how many attempts did it take to get it running?  From the very little I had to do with scooters, my abiding memory was that the bloody things would never start.

Anyway what are you doing poncing around with a scooter when you've got a sun roof to fix?

It was seized when i got it, bit of 2 x 2 and a lump hammer solved that, started 2nd kick when i rebuilt it, takes about ten now?

Method to my madness, i want the scooter out the way, then put the Merc up the drive (cant get anything past a car when ones on the drive)  quite a few things i need to do to it, pads, discs, sunroof, moss!, wheel chips, paint chips etc

that looks wicked Keith, nice one chap. I did a lambretta a few years back for a mate, it was just about running and hardly any rust, I wanted to do it black but he wanted ferrari rosso red, still looked good though but yours looks better in black. ;)

oh and yeah I've got a big scar on me right knee from a scooter accident when I was about 11 or 12, chipped a bit of me kneecap orf!

That looks fantastic, with its glossy black paintwork, great job.

Is the spindle of the front wheel behind the pivot for the suspension?
Are they all like that? Never seen that before. Tank slapper happy?

Assuming that the number plate is aluminium I'd be tempted to polish up the letters & repaint the back ground....but that's just me. On the other hand to have an un-restored part on the machine is quite cool....it shows it for what it is i.e not a new scoot.

I can only imagine that you've deliberated long and hard Keith.

I think i may go with that idea, first off i have to find out if i can retain that number, may end up with an age related plate

Why would you not be able to keep that plate? Do you not have the origonal log book?
