Prompted by the new pump, which has 3/4 ports, im looking for parts.

I could probably use tapered threads on the pump, but it specifically warns against this, and id rather not crack the casting, so -

I want somthing like this -

but with a parallel thread.

I then want to go to a cam fitting -

and *then* to a bend to make the vertical pump outlet a more convenient horizontal.

I want to use the cam before the bend, as, on my electric mono, its a constant irritation that the fixed bends are always pointing the wrong way.  I figure i can use the cam fitting to swivel (on fitting) to the direction i require.

My best bet so far seems to be to use -

a Running BSP Parallel

to a HEXAGON REDUCING BUSHES M X F - BRASS

then the cam fitting, then another bend, then the hose tail...

I guess that will be as good as it gets.  I reckon its going to work out significantly more than the cost of the pump in fittings and adapters : (

You have a lathe ... this should be no problem for you.

I tend not to buy even standard fittings any more, I've got so many secondhand items, I just find what I want at each end and turn them so the join with a spigot and solder them together.  To get the direction of your bend correct, just include a compression fitting.

I own a lathe.

In this case, "own" is not equal to "have" : (

I think that, unless Jim furnishes me with the details of his magic supplier of stainless fittings, ill order some from oilybits, and the other bits from BES, and do it the way suggested above.

Id like not to have to 'spanner' anything to change bits about.  Im sick of having to spanner the reactor every brew as it is!
