I see her. That is one very pretty van. I even saved the photos to my puter for reference, if or when it happens.

Don't you have to be called BA and wear lots of gold chains if you drive one of those ... not quite the GM we know!
Posts overlapped. I could well see myself driving that. In fact, if I had the money, I would have had a look at it as soon as I saw the advert. I can soon get some gold chains :P

Well fingers crossed the Serena belt is staying on.

Borrowed a works pool car to pick the belts up, you have to write down the start and end mileage, damn modern thing I couldn't get it off the trip counter, 37 miles to 44 miles.

Then I twigged that WAS the odometer and I'd added 15% mileage to a brand new pool car (two days old apparently).

Bit of a contrast from my bangers that was!

Got my sympathy too.

There's a lot to be said for keeping and old car for a long period, you get to know all it's quirks and foibles, and whilst it's never perfect, you know and can work around its imperfections.

Always a worry when running a "new" car.

Quite right, I'm learning in this one.

Sometimes the starter doesn't engage... but that's OK

The manifold has a cracked end and the exhaust escapes there.

I need to finish welding up the sills and re-seal the rocker cover as it weeps oil.

Flipping temporary car needs TLC!

He told me it comes complete with a highly skilled resident mechanic sleeping in the back, but he'd like weekends off to see Tash.

That isn't so bad. If that is all that's wrong with my vehicles, i consider them to be in good nick.......

Flattery will get you everywhere Julian.
In all seriousness I am going to sell it. Not because of reliability but because Tash really doesn't like it and wants something more car like. It also causes me to collect more oil than many other cars. Things are looking good for an Audi Allroad instead

I wanna Transit County, and a Moggy thou with an XUD in it, and never buy another vehicle again.

When you start buying spares for the 4x4 part of the Transit County (if you can even find them) you'll think how cheap modern cars are to repair.  ;)

Are they a problem? I'm seriously considering one, maybe in a few years time.
The older ones, pre smiley facelift, had axles off a ford Bronco, from what I'm told. The later smiley had half shafts at the front.
Probably another dream that will never happen anyway.

The trouble is, it was a bespoke conversion and most of the parts were made exclusively for this one application so some bits are serious money, then Countytrac annouced this in October:

Due to the decreasing number of enquiries for Beam Axle spares over the last 2 years we have now stopped support.

To this end we have now disposed of most of the parts with the following most brought items being sold at heavily discounted prices.

67TV1101B Brake Disc £70 pair
67TV2507 Speedo Cable £6.50 each
67TV3623 Drag Link £12.40 each
67TV/3831B O/S Track Rod End £12.40 each
67TV/3828B N/S Track Rod End £12.40 each

Please note: theses prices are exclusive of VAT and carriage cost.

Stock is extremely limited and it is on a first come first served basis, so please phone Countytrac sales on 01233 631554 and mention this forum posting.

Please note: this does not apply to the independent suspension models as we are able to still supply most parts for the foreseeable future.
