£650-£750 yearly for five of us in a 3 bed detached with double glazing, insulated walls and loft.

Sometimes heat is topped off with wood on an open fire, but that only heats one room, and not efficiently at that, so mostly has little effect on the bill.

Our boiler is the last of the non-condensing ones, not as efficient as a modern boiler but quite respectable and easy to service.

We run a programmed heating profile, warm in the early morning and late evening, moderate during the day and cold in the night.

Perhaps consider http://www.first-utility.com/ - tariff rates are pretty reasonable.

Currently £140 per month on kero for a 3 bed semi, just ticking over a couple of hours in the morning and a couple at night.

Hoping to go back to solid fuel CH, hoping to get a lister too (leccy's £85 a month).

We're £136/month for the duel fuel but thanks to N-power's spectacularly useless website I've no idea how much is split each way.

At a guess about £400 for the year although I wouldn't be surprised if it was higher.
