if on your PC you have see file extentions like i do (need to turn it on) you can just right click on file anywhere and change the .ext to what you want...

mypic.png to mypic.jpg

just edit after . dot .

if you dont have see .ext's turned on you only see "mypic"

Paul ... I've never tried it, but are you sure just changing the extension changes the format?  I can see it working for .jpg and .jpeg as I think they are effectively the same format ... I could be wrong though!

Keith ... The wiki should upload the following formats:  png, gif, jpg, jpeg and cdr. so your files should upload, assuming that's what you are wanting to do.

If you need other formats, Tony can add them, don't think I can.  I may be best to avoid .bmp as I think the file sizes can be rather large.

Paul's right pdfs won't load to the wiki.

Other problems in the past might be that the files are too large.  Max size is 2MB.

If you are taking new photos, try reducing the resolution or size on the camera.

For existing photo MS paint will resize photos via Image, then Attributes.  You can only change the size and by the looks of it, it won't automatically keep the height/width ratio the same. So you need to do a quick calculation to ensure that you maintain the aspect ratio.

Hey guys if there are any file formats that you think would be useful, it's easy enough to add them to the allowable formats list (and up the size limit if that's an issue)?

What about just a seperate thread where we can stick up any old pic and others can use them if required?
ie
