Oh what about BBQ lighter fluid? or do Wombles burn OK?

Won't methanol do? A much cleaner burn I think. ;D

Don't want to taint the neat nige.....BBQ wonble is quite a delicacy!
Yes ive heard the same but i have a feeling this one may be tough and stringy

We could arrange a paving slab and a sledge hammer for tenderising.

Think there's going to be a fight over who gets the sweetbread ... Slience of the Wombles ... tup, tup, tup, tup.
If hes got any sense it will already be pickled

I've been well pickled at the other BBB's, so why should this one be any different.

Shall we bring our own containers or return the previous ones?, the orange drums are very good and its a shame to waste them

If you still have the orange 25's then returning them would be most useful. They're quite rare now at our place. I can only get the 20lt version now.

I'd be interested in some ASM and methanol, but may well need it before the BBB, so will hang fire for the mo.

Methanol works really well as BBQ lighter fluid as those who went to Photoman290's Cornish BBB can testify - we didn't have any lighter fluid so used some of Bobs methanol for the same purpose.
Lovely pretty blue flames until the charcoal starts going then it's just yellow like normal fluid.

Nige, I would be interested in some of those big blue rolls that you tear the middle tube out of then put in a dispenser and pull the 'tail' out of the bottom - I'm sure you know what I mean.
I have one of those dispensers in the workshop so could do with some rolls .
Depending on price I would be up for half a dozen please

Would any of you who have caravans with toilets be interested in Chemical closet fluid?

My man can also supply bleaches, disinfectants, floor cleaners etc. pretty much anything chemical related.

I'd definitely take 5l IPA and 5l Acetone, will ponder whether to have 25kg NaOH or KOH too.  Potentially have mates that will want some chems too (one of my friends sets stones in jewellery - held in place with superglue for setting, which is dissolved off afterwards with acetone!)

Thanks Nige,

The acid quantity is a little large, it'll take years to get through that much ... can he do 5 ltrs or 2.5 ltrs?

I don't think so. The smallest he does is a 25. The price is attactive as he decants from a deposited carbouy into a UN 25. Therefore no deposit is required. I will ask though.

Your order for the IPA and the Acetone is noted Tony. I'll standby on the hydroxides. Let me know as asap.

There's likely to be health and safety implications if I were to try and stand on paper rolls ... honestly, some people!

However ......... If they are the 200mm wide ones the price seems quite reasonable.

Can we take it that the prices are fixed for orders placed within the next 30 days, but with delivery to the BBB?

I dare say that is correct.
