keep an eye on ebay for a 3 phase imersian heater, they go cheap on there (most of them are bloody expensive new)

just make sure you have enough oil flow to move the heat around ;)

Now that's a good idea.
What size boss do they use?

some are different... but you can get ones that fit in the normal sized hole (2 1/4 inch or whatever it is?)

or you could just wire up 3 single phase immersions in delta...

(a positive to each immersion, then join all3 negative connections together - they'll work at 3kw each, drawing 3kw from each positive connection. but you don;t need a negative connection - saving needing a 9kw cable)

That's star configuration that is, delta is when they're wired into a triangle with each phase at a point of the triangle.

If it's 415V three phase then star is the way to go as above, if it's 230V three phase (uncommon in this country but produced by some inverters) then delta is the way.

Yes it's 415v three phase that I have at the workshop.

I'll ask the guy what's the best way forward is, I know we can get power out to the shed it's if it's cost effective.

What's the blue pump do?
It draws from above the heater and just goes back in the top.

A rapid evaporation device AKA red squirrel.

It sprays bio into the head space and the sudden drop in pressure releases the methanol.

However due to not demething anymore and needing the pump for other things it will be removed soon.

Why not make 800 litres at one go, I have an 800 litre tank, no pump, but it was a processor, free if you can get it down to you. Terry

Nice thought, but I have been asked to keep my batch sizes as they are, one of the conditions of getting the space.
I've also got to keep it clean, which will be a challenge for me.

The housing association took a dim view of my activities, it was either stop production at home or get evicted.
So I moved my setup.
