So ... the text, kind of you as it was to ask, didn't answer my PM.

Starting to regret asking a simple question now, why's life so complicated?

That'll be three people you've confused then, because it didn't arrive on my phone.

Metal end ... at last ... thank you.  Most on ebay now seem to be a tube plugged with a cement type material.

If this is about the heat stick then I have a easy way to produce them if you have access to hot water ( burco boiler or similar)

Tube inside a tube with a fancy T at the top. This is one method I use at the factory with great results
If someone sends me their email I will try and put this to a drawing and send it back for them to post it up

We usually refer to it as a tosser tube where Keith's involved, but yes it's about that.  My email is in my forum details if you send it to me I'll post it for you.

If that turns out to be the case buy a 8, 10 or 15 mm one then you can just put a brass stop end on it

I did think of that, but you'd be creating a sealed space which, although a small volume, might cause problems when heating and cooling.  I think I may have found some suitable ones.  Data sheet says they're suitable for heating liquids or melting soft metals ... so they may just scrape by.

My type of heat stick the uses water is the same pipework as the plumbers delight condenser.
The top is the same but on the bottom the 22mm pipe is capped and the 15mm is left open.
This works well as the pipe is nice and strong , but only needing 1 piece of pipe going into container.
If it was connected to burco you could easly get the pipe to 90deg c getting any solids to liquid quickly.

Mine also has a leg of the bottom to give more surfice area.
