200th batch
« on: November 26, 2016, 01:47:09 PM »
As per title, I've just started my 200th batch of bio.

I've only got a little one ... 80ltr batch size, but all the same it means I've produced 16,000ltrs of bio.

Working on a saving of £1/ltr,  all the frustration when things go wrong, all the getting covered other peoples waste, all the dealing with rank putrefied oil, all the getting frozen to the core in winter, all the nagging about the mess in the garden, all the cleaning of spills in the car not to mention the lugging around of nearly 15 tons of tins and cubies, all starts to seem worthwhile!

I just can't work out where I spent all that money I saved!

Hope it runs smoothly for you with a glass of your favourite later to celebrate.
I have to agree though on the money saved. Where has it gone. Although with the disco in winter I suppose it allows me to fuel a car that might otherwise cripple me.

Well done Julian. Any idea how much of the 16000 litres you have used collecting the oil.

You obviously didn't spend in the beauty parlour so I reckon it all went on friggin' clapped out lawnroamers.

Despite the savings, the Disco is about to cripple me financially ... see below!

Don't know Dave, but it will only be a small fraction as all my collections are local.

Yes, Jim the surgeon refused to operate years ago.  The "Lawnroamer" on the other hand passed it's MOT this week.   Grumpy Pete the examiner gave me a numberplate lamp and let me change it while he did the rest of the test.  He then said if you bring it back next year without welding up the six rear body mounts, I'll fail it.  So I have a great summer project to look forward to.

Thanks Mark, your confidence in my bio making abilities warms the cockles.

Ah, the self dissolving properties of a disco.

Jules had welded mine up when he had it, I then had to do more welding last year and it'll need the body mounts welding next year.
That was the main reason for selling it.

I didn't think mine was too bad with regards to rust when I bought it, but I suppose I've had it quite a few years now.  The boot floor is absolutely fine with only a few signs of the seams starting to rust.  I cleaned those up and gave them a liberal coating of rust treatment followed by a good coating of underseal. The sills are just starting to show signs of going, so I'm wondering if I should do those and the pillar bottoms at the same time as the body mounts.
