I've just come off the phone to my bank ... when I say bank I mean some anonymous call center on the other side of the world where the staff struggle with a basic command of English.
Having been talked at by machines and punched in innumerable digits to prove who I am and get directed to the right department, it took quarter of listening to bland music before I got to talk to a human.
I politely expressed my displeasure with their customer service and got the usual barrage of abject, meaningless apologies. Having obtained the information I wanted, which only took a couple of minutes, the lady asked if I would accept a £15 credit as compensation for the time I had to wait!
Tough decision!
So if I spend the all day, every day calling the bank, at a £1 per min, I could earn over £100,00 a year!
