MDPE tank.

I have to get a 2.5k litre storage tank for a new client who intends to use a 50/50 blend of bio/dino. An MDPE tank 'that is special grade of biofuel resistant MDPE' is £600 dearer than a regular one. Does bio really eat MDPE? Do I really need to spend the extra dosh?

I store B100 in a standard plastic central heating oil tank. I must have been using that for over two years now with no noticeable effects. Splashes on the outside dont seem to affect the plastic either

I spoke to a (very helpful) potential supplier today, and he told me that I had to buy the bio-friendly one. So I asked, with admitted scepticism, if the manufacturer really had a different blend of MDPE for these tanks.

Well, no, he admitted. He used to work for the people that make them!
