Useless pump?
« on: November 07, 2013, 12:46:24 PM »
I think i have one of these -

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ITT-MARLOW-BATH-JACUSSI-PUMP-/121182368994?nma=true&si=zJYM1jFmOOsb%252BztHxkJSEky%252BbTY%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Ill plug it in, in a bit, to see if it spins.

The rear of the impeller housing seems to be cast metal, but the front seems to be plastic.

Curiously, it has an airline going into the control box on the top.  Im suspecting some sort of pressure switch in there, which may be the most useful part of the whole thing!

Im thinking its 1.5kg of "motors" at 50p/kg down the scrap yard, unless anyone can tell me otherwise?

If the innards are the same as the Stuart Turners pool/jacuzzi pumps it won't last 5mins mixing Bio.

It's the impellers, they dissolve.
