Don't think things are still quite right after server migration.
« on: December 15, 2012, 09:41:52 PM »
Just a couple of points ....

1) I don't seem to be getting email notifications of incoming PMs.  The option is set in my profile.  Also I haven't had any notifications of new members joining.

2) While uploading a graphic this evening (some of us are still working on the wiki!) it up loads but shows this in place of the thumbnail ...

Error creating thumbnail: /var/www/biopowered/w/bin/ulimit4.sh: line 4: /usr/bin/convert: No such file or directory

Photos still upload, they just fail to make thumbnails.

Did yours not up load at all?

God you're good ... thumbnails working OK, well done!

As I'm billy no mates, I'll have to wait quite a while for a PM or for a new member to join to check the email notification.

Keith, I've just restored your two photos, they look OK and make thumbnails too.

Well, after a flood of PMs (thanks Mark) the email notification still appears not to work.

That's a concern. I do get them, but my mail account is on the same machine.  I'll look into it.

In theory it would affect notification for new accounts registered (member emails) but that seems OK

I didn't get email notification of your PM last night Tony. I've always received them...but not this time.

Interesting this one.  I get notifications (PMs and new members joining) so clearly the forum is configured to use the mailserver OK.  However, maybe the mailserver itself isn't playing ball.

Julian I've sent you a message manually via the mailserver - it won't have a subject (couldn't remember the commands for that!) but should otherwise be OK.

There aren't any warnings/errors in the mailserver log for the last few days, so this is bit of a mystery.

OK, I found an issue with the mailserver.

Basically it wasn't sending a "fully-qualified address (in reply to MAIL FROM command))"

Some hosts are picky about this to avoid spam, I've fixed the issue (the mailserver identifies itself correctly to remote mailservers now) so you should all be getting notifications OK.
