MOT test - emissions.
« on: September 02, 2021, 12:11:28 PM »

Just had a pass on my 2002 Audi A4 MOT today.

I'm assuming the vital figure on the emission test result is the "Opacity mean (Fast pass Value)"......0.08.

How does this compare with others running on 100% biodiesel...is it good/average or poor?

Audi Avant Quattro on B100. (now retired.)
Skoda Yeti on a tentative 20% Bio.....

I think each vehicle is unique. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the pass mark is on the VIN plate.

Pass mark is on a plate on the vehicle somewhere but if they can't find it they fall back to default values which are often higher.  My vehicle half of the plate seems to have, err, fallen off.  Note that it mattered, it would have passed anyway!

When I had my 1999 Merc C250 running bio it was tested at 0.02, the tester thought his equipment was faulty and tested it on another car to make sure it was right.

Roll on a few years and my 2016 Skoda Yeti TDI 150 (DPF and adblue) running pump diesel pass the MOT last year with 0.02

Progress ????
Skoda Yeti L&K 2L TDI 150 CR DPF Adblue, running pimp diesel.
