I'm sure you're all bursting with curiosity to find out if the plug fitted (Yeah, right ... but I'll tell you anyway)

Fits a treat, wire size is right but the bally colours are round the wrong way!

I could probably get round it with judicious use of shrink wrap however, has anybody tried dying/painting pvc wire? What about upholstery paint you used to get for vinyl car seats?

If I could make them both black that would do.

the seller might have them with the colours the other way around ?

the male of one connector plugs into the female of the other connector.... so you'd need different wire colours for each pair of connectors otherwise the wire colours would swap ?

They must be handed. A matching pair will have male and female opposite colours to its butty.

I know I may look pretty daft, but I've already asked the question ... he only sells that orientation to match up with Motorola equipment.

you can buy reels of heat shrink.... you could cut it to the right length and do a bunch all at once ?

hot air gun / paint stripper thingie work great for heating/shrinking it

Maybe it would be easier to change the existing connector to something else like standard bullets?

If I can only buy connectors in this orientation, then using two the same will still result in the colours being mismatched!

The idea would be to supply a battery c/w connector for people to fit to an existing machine, so I've no control over the other connector.

I meant just snip off the connectors you have and replace with standard bullet connectors.

Good suggestion but not possible for logistic reasons I'm afraid!
