You've been a vary busy boy.
But surely it wouldn't of been that much more work to put in a proper pool.
It would, I would have had to move at least another 10 to 20 tonnes of soil to get low enough and make it big enough to be worth the effort, plus I was at the level where I was pulling out a lot of rock. With no access for a digger, everything was manual so that would have been a massive undertaking.
I dont see the point in a halfway house type pool (like a 24' X 16' or similar). The one I have is fine for playing around in, relaxing in with a beer or two and generally using as a hot tub.
To properly swim it would need to be about 40 - 50 feet long to be worth the effort.
Anything in between just seems to be a compromise.
