What would be the least amount of glycerol that should be present when doing the wash?
After the wash I settle out the glycerol then do an acid wash followed by 3 or 4 water washes.

The minimum amount would be what's left after your second stage reaction...assuming you employ a two stage reaction.

Yes I do 2 stagesand had 85% conversion on 1st stage.
I've done a 5% wash with just the glycerol from the 2nd stage and its now settling.
Sample is murky but not an emulsion.

Murky orange juice is the consistancy you're looking for. So long as there is seperation in your jug sample, you're good to go

Seperated quite quick, turned out that there was about 8% glycerol in the volume of bio.
It's now had an acid wash and I'll leave overnight.
