North Cornwall Newbie!
« on: July 09, 2014, 08:19:57 PM »
Hi yall! been thinking about making bio for a while now and only just got round to researching enough to gain a basic understanding and I now feel ready to purchase a machine - I simply don't have the skills or the time to build my own unfortunately so am looking to buy the full kit all ready to go.

from what I understand I want to course filter by WVO into my first tank where I will heat and circulate my oil to remove water -

then I pump my oil into tank 2, test it and add required chemicals, and start the reaction - test again to make sure reaction complete and then begin the glycerol separation - then the washing and de-waxing followed by the filtering and settling?

Something like that right? like I say I have a basic understanding -

I feel I need to make very high quality stuff and pass through a 1 micron filter? and settle for at least 3 weeks?

as we will be using in some modern engines - perhaps remove/replace any super fine fuel filters in the newer models?

My van is a VW T4 2.5 tdi

I'm looking for about a 400L machine as there will be 8 of us using it

Any advice would be amazing and really appreciated!
advice on how it works/what I need/ where to obtain a machine really really appreciated!

Thanks in advance folks!

Dave

Welcome Dave,

http://www.biopowered.co.uk/wiki

at least you are doing it right and researching first, most people buy a crappy processor of fleeabay and then come here asking questions.

8 people using one machine?  Mmmmmmm that'll amount to all of 312ltr per person per year.

You need to do a little more research into the legal side of bio, 2500ltr per machine per year.

Ah so it's 2500L per machine huh?! damn - well I guess I'll have to get myself a small one and inspire the others to get their own - or maybe 2 of us can share 1 machine? see how many miles we end up doing.

Oh well - the good side of that is I can now get a smaller machine and not be so overwhelmed!

Cheers

Oh and yes Rotary-motion I am looking to buy a machine
