Has anybody considered this?  Standard screwed piping seem very heavy for the low pressures we use.

Although not cheap nice preformed bends can be bought and it's available in quite large bore sizes.  Brass fittings could be silver soldered where required or steel ones welded.  Where joints are needed for dismantling flanges could be fabricated.

Not a bad idea, can't see much of a down side to it. Flanges can be bought, complete with gasket.
It's not a huge amount of pipe in a processor, A raid on a scrap yard could probably get enough, especially if someone is a bit handy with a mig.

I like the idea, you could also use stainless steel tube if pockets are deep enough.

You can soft solder brass to steel.

Be very careful if you choose to silver solder, the melting point of silver solder is rather close to that of brass.

I'd have a lot more luck silver soldering than combination than soft soldering.

IIRC there was some guy on VOD who had his processor pipework made up by some stainless exhaust company.
