Download  the app from google playstore. Try the free version (shows limited parameters) first to see if it works. Then decide if you want to pay for the full version. It is only available for android. You also need a cheap OBD bluetooth dongle.
Have a look at the VAGDPF forum

My Fabia is a 1.6 TDi engine code CAYC. I use an andriod app called VAGDPF to monitor the dpf status on my phone.

is the app downloaded from the internet Bill. I also need to find out if my oid android phone will accept it.

Oil coarse filtering, settling, drying and storage / veg filtering rigs
« Last post by Vijay on December 30, 2024, 04:52:27 PM »
Hi all,

I just wondered if anyone has any good ideas for veg filtering. I currently pre filter the good veg oil through a fine sieve (not a normal one) and let it settle with 10% petrol for a couple of weeks. I then pour the good stuff through a pillow case, into filter socks down to 1 micron before that goes in the car.

That has always worked but's it's time consuming doing the first pre filter through a fine sieve. Time is not on my side these days and I want to be able to get at least 20l pre sieved a lot quicker.

So I wondered if any of you veg runners have any good ideas/setups for filtering your veg?

Cheers

Vijay

You could run the Octavia on a % of bio. I've been running a Skoda Fabia 2012 on B50 for over 5 years. It still has a DPF. Just need to monitor oil level and dpf regeneration's more carefully.

Cheers Bill. Yes, that is something I will do. We bought the car privately from a guy who seems very genuine and it has 3/4 tank of fuel. When it gets lower I will start to blend a little bio into the pump diesel.

If I ever reach your standards of 50/50 that would be the equivalent of roughly 80 MPG and zero tax, Happy Days.

Our present car (2005 VW Touareg) is really uneconomical at about 22mpg on bio, even using 2EHN.

I was surprised to learn that a 2015 Skoda  Octavia 1.6 TDI has a consumption of 45 to 60 mpg and the biggest benefit...........No TAX

This means that the fuel cost per month for DERV bearing in mind our small 200 mile journeys/monthly  would be hardly any more expensive than running the Touareg on Bio.

So guess what, yes we bought the Octavia and the Touareg is going on jan 2nd. The monthly saving will be about the same as the monthly tax amount on the Touareg which is Nearly £37

But don't worry guys, I will still carry on making bio for my van and the central heating.
