Title: Downtime for disk swap
Post by: Tony on April 11, 2016, 04:30:03 PM: Just a pre-warning, I'm going to take the server offline this evening because I'm worried about the reliability of the Seagate Pipeline HD.2 drives in it. I've seen a few failures so don't trust them much. Got some nice Western Digital Blues to replace them :)

Is it just a matter of copying data from old to new and bolting them in, or am I looking at things in my usual, simplistic manner?

Post by: Tony on April 12, 2016, 07:53:22 AM: That's pretty much it, but I took the opportunity to resize some of the partitions on the newly copied disks, and I think that's where there were problems.

It takes a fair while to duplicate 1TB drives so just ran out of time to do it again.
