Hi All
Thought id post over here for a change.
Im about to build my all in one processor, well that's the plan.
I plan to use just one cone bottom drum for producing bio start to finish but need people with experience to give me a few nudges in the right direction.
The drum is a clip top so a measured amount of WVO will be poured in the top and heated to between 60 and 80 degrees C with the pump running. A 80lpm bubbler connected to a copper pipe ring with many small holes will provide a constant supply of air to accelerate drying. I assume most people continue drying until no more steam comes from the hot oil. I could heat to 80 deg c and leave bubbling overnight.
Processing will be done using the 2 stage no titration method. No thrills here. tank, heater, pump, mixing eductor. My methoxide is drawn into the system by opening and partially closing certain valves.
I then plan to attempt WBD using my bubbler rather than a venturi or just go straight into titrated pump washing. Still scratching my head, more research and science kit needed for titration.
Once satisfied that the soaps are washed away i will heat the bio to ...(ideal temperature unknown)... deg C and use my bubbler to accelerate drying.
once dry, pump off to storage / settling tank and jobs done.
Questions...
How am i supposed to safely return stage 1 glyc back to the reactor for WBD?
Is a 80lpm bubbler suitable enough to dry WVO and bio?
if i think of any more ill add
Cheers

I have a 60L tank in the system that I pump the stage 1 glyc into. It has a coil in it that the hot bio is circulated through to keep the glyc hot and liquid. When ready to demeth the glyc is pumped back into the processor so I never come into contact with meth rich glyc.
Re meth reclaim. I condense the meth out of 160L batches and get 12 - 14L back, at 45ppl to buy I think it is worth the effort.

everything has been asked before, all the answers are there... Excellent.
Thanks keith.
Interesting idea Dick. Im going back to the drawing board to make some changes.

I would think twice about using ambient air for drying and demething. I've yet to prove it, but I believe it's this system that's caused me grief in recent very humidity ambients. Might be advisable to consider including a venturi.

There's a bloke down in Hastings building well almost finished an all in one system based on one of my clip top tanks.
When completed it'll be a full GL to boot.
I'll ask if I can reproduce the picture he sent me.
