can someone tell me is 3.5 MB/s is 35 gig download speed?

3.5mbps sounds like a download speed (not a particularly fast one). 35gig is way too fast for a residential link so is more likely a quantity cap, IE you can't download more than 35gigabytes of data per month.

just downed a 1.3 gig file in 6 mins @ 3.5MB/s
its the infinity line, old line new box splitter with bt homehub 3 no filters needed, must be built in this thing?

3.5 is not bad in Worcestershire unless you are lucky enough to be in one of the updated areas. Some areas locally struggle to get above 1!
We manage 6 on a good day but drop down to 2.5 or 3 when it is busy.
I am with talk talk not bt though.

i get 10 gigabytes / 1mbs at my home down speeds

ok so you can get 6 megabytes on a good day = 60 gigabytes
my house is 10 gig all the time or 1 mbs
rachaels house here now with infinity is 35 gigabytes or 3.5 mbs

Best is 6 Mbps I don't know the relevance of the gigabytes the Mbps is the download speed the upload speed is usually low min about .3 Mbps.
What speed test prog are you using?
I am not with BT I use talk talk ATM but will probably change to bt when the contract ends.

In a nut shell yes but the 6mbps is better than many on the bank are getting it runs reasonably ok on the I player on the tv but does stutter a bit. One day Ombersley will get fibre optic then I hope for 25mbps.
That is very good and what I would expect from fibre. I am now going to sulk in the corner :-\

6 mbps is almost twice as fast as this line... ? should be like a rocket...
and this line is no buffering on iplayer bt man tried it, you can just go to any part of film and it plays...
on one laptop is playing iplayer well test was taking place rachaels daughter is watching it in her bedroom

oh to note dick, on normal braodband for rachael she could only get 1 gig donwload almosy dial up crap... wont go any faster this is why shes had the infinity box with same line now its like a rocket, if she could of got 8gig on normal BB she would have that but cant.

Download is what counts that is why upload is usually slower. Check with the speed test at different times of day to get an overall picture but what you have there is flying.

Other way around, 1000 megabytes makes 1 gigabyte.
Speeds are measured in one of two ways, megabytes per second typically, say, 3.5MB/sec or megabits per second (mbps).
There are 8 bits in 1 byte, so if you have 3.5 megabytes per second you have 3.5 * 8 = 28 megabits per second.

If that speed test is done via wifi - I'd suggest that probably the wifi part of the link is the slowest. You might like to try again when it's plugged in.
Anyhow - that's blisteringly fast :D
