Keith, good start but you pasted the wrong page, should have been http://www.biopowered.co.uk/wiki/New_Page Would you like me to sort it?
-
Just noticed you've signed out so I pasted the code for new page into your TAM page.
Hopefully it should make more sense now if you have one window for reading http://www.biopowered.co.uk/wiki/Creating_pages
and another where you are editing your TAM page at
http://www.biopowered.co.uk/w/index.php?title=Tam_105&rcid=1053
Any problems give is a shout.
-
Trying to sort it at the mo,let me know if its better
-
where are we now?
I was just copying stuff over,i wrongly assumed that i had to sign and catorgrise it before it became visible :-[
-
OK ... went back and you'd got some TAM bits up ... must stop trying to interfere, sorry!
It's a good start, well done.
Probably the first thing to sort is the indents. First one at "Model" is causing a problem along with others. I think the wiki take the indent as a command to ignore wiki code so you. need to delete the spaces to the left of "Model", similarly further down the page.
-
Once you've saved it its visible. Its just not indexed yet. I check the "recent changes" page quite often to see what new which is how I found it.
Are you trying to copy and paste a table into the wiki?
-
From what i can see its just the first table out of skew now? not sure about that? i was off seeing how to upload piccys
-
"Upload file" on left in "tool Box"
-
Are you on Skype and are you planning on going to bed soon?

No and No
uploaded pics, now where are they :D this is hard work for my small brain,i thought i could sneakily mess up and not be noticed-fat chance :D
-
I can go away and pretend I never saw it if you like!
To find pics co to "special pages" in "tool box" and under the fifth heading down you should find "Gallery of new files", click on that and they should be there.
Copy the file name and paste into your page in-between [[ and ]].
-
Where did the graphic with the watermark come from? I can have a bash at lifting it without the mark if you like.
-
Give me a couple of secs and I'll sort the photos.
Trying to make the site unbiased and non-commercial. Have had discussions with Paddy re his processor page on the same point, so probably not a good idea. If we allow one we may get all manner of people form outside the forum posting pages full of adds and links.
Check out the code for the pics once I've done it.
-
Agreed,i will delete the above post
-
Ok all done, check out the code to see how it's dine.
-
Ahem ... One of the things you must remember when doing this is to save the page once you've edited it ... I'll just do that again!
-
That's better, done AND saved!
-
Ha just spent 5 mins thinking id cocked up again :D
Thanks for that-the help i mean
Do you think that will do?
-
It's nearly there.
Perhaps loose the top line and amalgamate it with the first paragraph.
Follow that with a "TOC" (Table of contents)
Put __TOC__ After the first paragraph.
Add headings, so the TOC can list them, so ...
Change TAM 105 to ==TAM 105 specifications==
Change Components to ==Components==
Change Performance to ==Performance==
In the interests of being unbiased and non commercial perhaps we should loose the Machine Mart contact details. (any one can search TAM 105 and arrive at the MM website quit easily)
Put Biodiesel after the colon in the Category at the bottom and delete text starting "Add the ...."
-
I think i will save a come back tomorrow, ive deleted most of the MM details but ive left the email address/tel no as parts are not so easily found and that was the idea behind this- to allow people to source parts,do you think that will be ok?
-
Still needed to move the headings to the left-hand margin in order for them to work. I just did it so you can see the difference.
Tricky with regards to the spares contact. How about making it more generic and saying something like:
"Spares for this pump are readily available from the main stockists and distributors whose detail can be found on the internet"
Again they only have to bang TAM 105 into Google and they will come up with machine mart.

check out bullets on your first paragraph keith
see if you likey, if not sorry i butted in, just looks neater and less spread out for quick reference, also goes with rest of the site to keep it unilateral...
