I wonder, do we need to freshen up the logos a bit? They're not consistent between wiki and forum, at the time I just hastily threw them together in GIMP. I think the wiki one might even be an oil pouring one borrowed from someones avatar/website:
http://www.biopowered.co.uk/w/skins/common/images/biopowered_logo2.png (150x150 - should be this size)
http://www.biopowered.co.uk/forum/Themes/Headline_2_0/images/img/logo.png (230x69 - could be different size within reason)
http://www.biopowered.co.uk/favicon.ico (16x16)
No idea what we could do with them though.
Potentially the top of the wiki Main Page could include the same wide banner as at the top of the forum (with something very simple in the 150x150 place holder at the top left).
-
I think the wiki logo was nicked from my site, but then I nicked it from somewhere else!
We could certainly do with more consistency between the two. Anybody got any suggestions?
-
i guess consistyency is comforting on the eye, but logos do look fine i think...
-
So I changed the logo, bit more grungy like what we do right?
-
You are seriously bored!
Get out in the shed and finish that processor!
-
My main problem with the processor build has been being here during the day, as the grinder is really very very noisy and the neighbours would not be happy! I have to do it in the garden as welding in the shed would result in large amounts of fire (pretty much every time I use the MIG, something catches fire).
Plus I've been working on the extension as priority for winter (needed everything ripping out an insulating, which is done, just needs wiring and plasterboarding!)
Actually, when the missus isn't here... I could do the welding in the extension... currently has a plain concrete floor - hmmmm

What happened to subtle? Sorry Tony, but that's bloody awful!
-
I like it!
Happy to change it back if wanted? The old one was very hastily thrown together, the whole clean reflection thing does not accurately represent the contents of our collective sheds (certainly not my shed as max.print and nigelb and others that have seen it first hand can attest!) ;)
Or... someone with vector graphic skills could do something better I'm sure ;D
-
More than happy to do the graphics, but really need some ideas.
My shed's reasonably clean as Keef, formally known as max-print and Mark can confirm. What we do doesn't have to be messy ... it's what you make it.
I advocate a shed inspection team. Each month we can send someone to the naughty thread for a messy shed, whilst awarding golden barrels for the cleanest.
-
Well I might as well go live on the naughty thread then!

Only a person with a clean shed (and even lino on the floor!!) would even suggest such a thing.
I think we should send a team to inspect the fullness of sheds, the fullest shed gets the golden barrel but has to decline it as they have nowhere to keep it. ;)
-
No they'd keep it anyway, stood in the garden getting rained on with dust sticking to the oily streaks.
Sooo, we want a "clean" logo do we?
-
Keef e-mailed me this one to put up for debate:

Top one in more subtle colours has my vote ... like that very much indeed.
As a modification, how about having the b and p interlinked like a chain.

That's pretty sweet :)
Is that a fixed spacing font? To me it looks like there is a fair gap between letters but that might just be my opinion.
-
I've left work now so I'll see what comments there are over the weekend and maybe mess about with the kerning on Monday.
-
kerning ... I was impressed, then I remembered what you do for a living!
Liking it more and more. As well as reducing the kerning what about reducing the size of "owered", so it's more compact.
What font is that, Keith? Can you send me a copy (if it will work on PC, I assume you are still all Macs in the print world) If you can I throw some variations up too.
-
I've popped Keef's up as the forum logo, lets see how we get along with it.
-
Well the old one still shows on my page, not that i really care either way, prob need to log out and back in or summat
-
ctrl-F5 if you're on a PC, your browser probably has the old image cached.
-
Beautiful, professional and corporate........ When do we get business card?! Hehe
-
Would look good on a "Biopowered affiliated collector" business card wouldn't it? That takes us back to our setting up an unincorporated association discussion again (if we're not one already).
-
Nice, me like mucho! Well done Tony.
I have a good domain name for a UK wide collectors site if you ever wanted to go that way.
-
Not me, logo was by Keef :)
-
Good job Keef! ;D
-
I've put the logo on the wiki bit as well, all looking good. I did notice some defects around the oil drop over the i but we can fix that when we're set on a final version. I've made a new favicon for the site using the oil drop too.
-
Yes it is a bit rough but it was just meant as a visual as Julian suggested the changes at 11.35 and I left work at 12.00 so I just threw it together so you lot had something to look at for the weekend. In fact I think it may even still be a bitmap and not vector.
Julian the font maybe Bauhaus 93 I think, but I wasn't really concentrating on the name of it so I may well be wrong.
