Interesting news article, not that I understand much of it, but talks about filter blocking and cold weather use ...

It does seem to suggest that monoglycerides when mixed with fossil fuels can cause precipitation at low temperatures. For us "pure" biodiesellers, I guess that isn't a problem unless we start adding petrol in winter to keep it liquid (when I have done that in the past I've always mixed and stood outside for at least 24h in case of precipitation). But I've long since abandoned petrol as a winter additive and just stuck with skimming the liquid fuel from the top of storage instead.

This I'm my theory on I'm probably wrong
Mono's and die's mix with water more readily.
When speaking to truck divers and maintenance fitters they always say "you always get a bit of water in the fuel but the engine can cope with it and it drops out in the filters anyway"
So with good quality bio or reg diesel small amount of water not a problem but with the Mono's and die's or residual catylist every bit of moisture can creat problems.
Hope this makes sence it work's in my head
