Hi guys, can any one give me a price for methanol on the main land for 200 lt or 1000 cube

If you look on the BBB thread there are prices from a couple of suppliers. NigelB quotes £144 for 200lt delivered to the BBB I believe.
-
£144 per 200lt drum. Collected from Leicester.
-
Thanks Paul, I see that Nigel has posted just below you.
Where or what is the BBB site ? Paul
Nigel, what would I need to get at least 1 barrel "maybe 4" delivered to Northern Ireland.

The BBB is another thread on this forum: http://biopowered.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=3297.0;topicseen
It is "Biodiesel Barbercue Bash" or something like that, where a number of similarly minded individuals intrested in Bio and related things get to gether for most of a weekend and as far as I can tell eat & drink too much. I have to admit I haven't yet made it to any of the events, and am unable to do so this year.

Iirc the BBB is the Bio Buddies Bash.
Anything into NI is a problem. I'll ask in the morning Dave but I cant promise anything. Standby.

Thanks guys for the info
Nigel, I think I know a lorry operator who goes back and forth to main land via Belfast, or it could be Warrenpoint - Liverpool "Seatruks" which is only 5 mile from me and I see their ships every day, any way going back to the lorry guy, I will need to find out what type of paper work he needs and does he have it ?

We wont entertain anything into NI. The paperwork is crazy at the mo. If you can get it picked up from Leicester we can have a drum palletised and ready to go.

Hi guys
I thought I would do an up-date on the price of methanol here in Northern Ireland, I have found a person who gets it from brentag by the cube and sells me 200 ltr at a time, at the right price which I am, NOT quoting here.
But I will now give you a quote I was given back in June of 2021 needless to say, I did not buy from the cow-boy.. >:(
210 litres is 600, 1000 litres is 1800 and Are you interested? I can do the 25 litres for £70, followed by, My dad gets it through his work he could potentially write off the vat so it would be £480 if you're stuck. But honestly you would get no cheaper than that they buy it by the ton
Now that I have started a new part time job, the company process food, and have a fork lift, so I may just bring in 4 barrels from England via Dublin at £590 + £130 carrier

That still sounds expensive, but then I've not ordered recently. Nigel's prices are a good indicate of what to expect. Have you tried Barrettine in Bristol? They're lovely people and shipping to mainland UK is free over £300, so it might also be more competitive to NI than that £130 you've been quoted.
BTW the whole work and forklift thing, I've fallen foul of that before - my loading drums in to the car with a forklift got banned on the grounds that their goods in weren't set up for it (would need to build a fireproof area for storing flammables).
-
What the hell, £3 per litre in 205 drums and ONLY £1.80 if you buy 1000 litres. Cowboy or what!
jennychem from se London are cheapest at moment.

Just an update on Methanol price here in Northern Ireland, from £150 +vat to £200 + vat per 200 ltr drum

£1.20/litre in a 200 drum isn't bad in todays market. Sidwil are £213 per 205 drum or £840 for an IBC. It has all gone crazy.
Of course the upside of all this is that the saving per litre is now more than ever. I think my bio costs about 35ppl all in.

Just bought an IBC from Bonnymans this morning for £852 all-in. When factoring-in the saving over pump diesel it still seems reasonable.
