Title: Huge amount of methanol on Ebay. Anyone interested in splitting?
Post by: neisel on July 01, 2019, 01:23:40 PM
2 x 950 litres in 2 x IBCs located in Bicester, fork lift available on site, IBCs can go or be left. Gotta be paid for & removed within a week of auction finishing. That means July 11th.

I could take roughly about 600 litres, anyone interested in some or all of the rest?

It would require everybody splitting this to be available to collect on the same day & to have funds available.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Methanol-99-95-for-bio-diesel-or-racing-2-x-950L-IBC/312674278968?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3Da4c677b6ef394ded873d77ad41460579%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D312674278968%26itm%3D312674278968&_trksid=p2481888.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3Aaaf6373a-9bd6-11e9-b8bd-74dbd180c8bb%7Cparentrq%3Aac8f23c816b0a9ca22e87133ffeb5056%7Ciid%3A1

If you're interested please PM me with the number of litres you'd want & max price per litre at which you would be interested. In my experience about 25ppl is the approx going rate for 'second hand' methanol.

Good, that's at least half of it spoken for.

Anybody else interested? About 36 hours left to decide.

I could take 400ltrs.
Unfortunatly not more, as I only have a small trailer.
Possibly a bit more, if I load some into the car, and hold my breath on the way home.

Up to 25p/ltr max bid.

Good, looks like we've got 4 people committed to the 1900L (btw I thought IBCs held 1000L. No?)

Collection date. The stuff is located at a business that's open from 7-4, M-F. They can accommodate us after hours or this coming weekend if they must WITH ADVANCE NOTICE so could you let me know when collecting suits each of you & we'll try to pick a time that suits everyone?

I can go at anytime.

Assuming we win the auction I want this to run smoothly so could you please confirm that each of the three of you, RichardP, gonzo & THE-DOLPHIN, are ABSOLUTELY sure you want to buy this, are in a position to pay for your share immediately after the auction ends & can collect within a week of the auction ending (tomorrow) at an agreed time?

I am currently between jobs. So available to go any time.
Other than this coming friday afternoon.
Also not available this weekend.

Definitly in on the deal. Funds are available .

I would be traveling with a small trailer and some empty 205ltr barrels.  The trailer will take two barrels. And I'll put some spare 60ltr containers in the car, in case needed. And pay you pro-rata.

If someone has a decent pump with them, I'd appreciate a loan of it on the day. My only pumps are a bit low flow rate.
Unless the on site people can lift the IBCs up on their forklift and we can just gravity decant it out?

OK then boys, we're all set.

Friday morning would work for me.

Bicester is at 1 o'clock to Oxford, about 10 miles N.

I'll have to get a trailer sorted pronto (if we get it!).

Has anyone got an IBC tank connector to stick a hose on for emptying?

Getting exiting now......

Malc (DOLPHIN):
Yes, that should be do-able.
Possibly a cheaper option may be to hire a bigger trailer. Mine will only take a couple of barrels.
Were you thinking of taking your share in the IBC?

Thanks for giving it a go though.
Keep your eye's out for more!

I'm in need of methanol and KOH still. Just starting out and have nothing at all.
So if anyone is up for doing an order in the Poole area.......

Shame I'm busy this weekend. Otherwise would do the BBB.

Malc,

Yep, give me a call/text and I'll put the kettle on.
Still plumbing the bits together. But almost there.

Enjoy the weekend. I'm up on a hill, playing with radios. Looking at the forecast, it will be a warm one.

Jules

What made you set your price at £520?

Even at £720 for 1900lts it only works out at 38ppl!! Even better value if the IBC's held 1000lts
