Title: Intro

OK, most forums like new members to post a bit of an intro.
Not sure if that is a req here, but here we go anyway.

I'm in Poole, Dorset.
I looked into bio long long ago, as an aside, whilst I was researching LPG sytems. Ran LPG for about 15yrs, but now I'm on diesel, it's time to revisit bio.

I have a central heating cylinder coming at some stage, possible to make a small reactor from. But this weekend I'm going to make up a conical bottom vessel from a 205ltr barrel.
I am still collecting the bits together, and have yet to start polling around for oil supplies. So it may take a little while before I make my first brew.

Welcome. For most people finding a good, reliable, regular source of good Wvo is the biggest hurdle so don't  wait long before you start looking.

Welcome, and definitely start the oil scrounge sooner rather than later.  The way I see it, the logic table looks like this:

Case 1 it's better to have found out you can't get oil before spending any money on equipment.
Case 2 is the ideal outcome - happy fuel making!
Case 3 again, no money lost up front on equipment
Case 4 you can just sell on the oil to another local biodieseller

There is nothing that is a disadvantage about starting to collecting oil right away.

Welcome to biopowered … good to see new members.

Loads of info on making reactors and associated equipment on the wiki, but any questions, just ask (and someone way more inelegant than me will answer them!)
