Title: My PID has broken, and ive forgotten all i ever knew about them.... :(
Post by: julianf on February 23, 2018, 10:15:58 AM
I have always used the n2006p units in the past with an SSR relay.

All i can find now are the rex-c100 units, but i have in mind that these do not have a (i think?) DC feed to drive the SSR.

I think they have relays or AC?  I found half an old post on VOD about it also.

What id like is just a drop in replacement, ie a n2006p, but it seems if i get a REX unit, ill need to add a DC psu somwhere also, if im to retain the SSR?

I used to know this stuff, but its gone now  : (

Thank you.

They must have changed them, as it seems there are kits about now, with SSR outputs, eg -

which i have just purchased.

Manual  here ... https://www.mpja.com/download/rex-c100.pdf

Had a very quick read and I think some versions have a 0/12v DC output dictated by the full model number which I cant see in the advert.

Not the end of the world to add a power supply, just use a plug in jobbie from a printer or the like ... most Womble minded people have at least half a dozen kicking around in the "too useful to throw away box".

Good luck with it.

The ebay item is sold with an SSR, so you would hope...

My bio setup is such that any extra electronics will increase the failure rate.  I mean, thats always the case, but most electronics get an easier life...
