Title: Filter station upgrade!
Post by: Tony on April 23, 2017, 09:02:57 PM
I've got from a broken noisy vane pump sitting on the floor with a filter housing mounted on a pallet propped on one side, to a nice quiet Mono MS mounted on the wall with the filter.  Ahhh... satisfying bit of plumbing :)

The Mono cost me nowt because the couriers dropped it and smashed the fan housing, and I claimed for the damage.  I should 3D print a new one, but it doesn't even get warm filtering 120l of fuel so I'm not sure there is any point...

Tony, are you using the Mono with a fuel station type filler nozzle?

If so, won't it over pressure when the nozzle shuts off or do you have a pressure switch somewhere on the system?

No, I just stick a 25l drum under the outlet pipe for now.  I've put an inline switch in the power cable for the mono, so I can position the pickup tube with one hand and control the pump with the other, for pumping out my 120l settling drums into the 25l drums.

Also in other news, 25l drums (the carwash type) go brittle if left in the sunshine outside for a few months, and when they fall over in your car, crack and fill the spare tyre well and passenger footwells with biodiesel.  Ask me how I know :P
