Hi,
I am looking at a VW T5 56 plate (2006) 2.5tdi 130bhp. Does anyone have any experience of running one on Bio? I know it has a DPF but i've heard there are two different systems, one that injects fuel straight into the exhaust and one that introduces it further up the system?. Does anyone know if this vehicle would cope ok with Bio?
Many thanks

I am pretty sure that these have the post injection set up, so it injects the diesel into the engine on the exhaust stroke.
You would have to try it in ever increasing ratio's of bio. Some engines won't tolerate bio above around 20% whilst others can use 100% bio with no problems.
Just watch for the oil level creeping up.

Hi DGS, thanks for that,

They are a PD engine which can be fussy with Bio, especially the injectors which are very expensive, and in tank fuel pump.

Hi, What is the difference with the PD engine,? I checked it wasn't a CR ( common rail) which could have been a prob.
Thanks

A common rail has a high pressure pump the supplies fuel to EUC controlled injectors, similar to how a petrol engine works but with higher pressures.
A PD engine has a small high pressure pump incorporated in each of the injectors, but there still ECU controlled.
