I'll be there 'cause I'm almost nearly normal the trickcyclist said.
-
We will all be there as usual because we're the only ones who've got shrink letters saying there is nothing wrong with us and we're normal. Although I think I threw mine away as what do them wierdos know. Hahaha
-
As usual, I have no idea if I'll be available.
But if I am - I'll be there!

Hope you can make it ... It'll be good to put a face to a name at last!

I had so much I wanted to do and prepare for the BBB. But I think it will just be us absorbing the weekend rather than contributing this time around. The kids are looking forward to seeing Chug and Lynda again - they keep asking!
-
I hope to make it as usual too, though this year has been a bit of a trial.....
Didn't have the time or energy to get the projects I wanted to get done. I hope to at least make an arduino air bag blasting controller done.
No pulse jet or turbo jet mk2, or the tesla coil I keep promising myself....
Any way I will just drown my sorrows in loads of booze as usual!

Whats the plan with the arduino will the timing be set to music or something.
You mentioned a relay panel can possibly source some low power 12 volt relays [stand by relays from TVs].
Have a lot of multi core cable for connecting if required just let me know what's needed and if you want any help.
I am collecting a good stock of air bags hope to have a hundred by BBB time.
Richard.

Richard ... is the gas pipe / football cannon still a goer?
I'm still up for buying half a dozen foot balls ... any luck with the pipe?

Not looking good from my gas man but not given up yet trying to find a 8 inch diameter pipe from the scrap yard.
Also looking for a tennis ball or coke tin size pipe.
-
I have some large, aluminium down pipe in the shed ... I'll have a measure up tomorrow, but I'd be a little worried about the diameter not allowing the bag to expand properly and the strength being insufficient.

I know health and safety don't mean a lot at the BBB but I think aly will not be up to the job.

i have about 6 foot of 150mm yellow gas pipe if thats any good.

Hi Richard, yeah some help would be good. Plan is to get an io shield to switch a load of ssrs, I think 10 at a time would be a managable number. We could try music!

Yes please bring it along we now have to find 6" projectiles I mean balls.
-
I may be able to get some tennis ball size steel pipe.
I'm thinking an expansion chamber (box) at the base will give the bag room to, er, expand, and force the air up the pipe.
Now what sort of volume will the chamber need to be ?
And no, the pipe will not be Womble size.

If we cut the bag of the chamber need only be big enough to take the unit.

Good point, so some plastic pipe, a Roses tin and some gaffa tape is all we need.

How about this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tM9DjfX0l4

I like the added fuel
-
Have measured the charges from three makes and a chamber of 5" x 5" x 2.5" is required.
-
wouldnt this be easier?

Just sayin'.
-
Yes they will both work but you are not keeping to one of the main rules.
You have to buy gun powder and carbide the air bags are free.
-
If you want to go down the acetylene route I've got a small oxy/acet set, now a nice neutral mix give a very serious bang, a couple of litres would prolly launch a tennis ball into orbit.
Soooooo how about a Gerald Bull Cannon!
-
He did not help Forge Masters mutch.

It wasn't Bull but the slimy blubberment trying to keep things secret, Forge Masters were only making water pipes.

I like the "free stuff" philosophy, it's a good one to abide by.
I also liked that video of the airbag powered fuel-air mix, I expect that would work with bio pretty well.
I'm sure we could use a bit of electrolysis to get some hydrogen too, if anyone wants to try that. :)

Ooooooooo! I ain't done that since I was in school but I have met a bloke with an electrolysis box fitted to his bio powered Astra van.
